The book features a combination of text, graphics, and threads, depicting the knots that have been tied inside me since my childhood. It’s a little memoir. These knots originated from various sources, including family, school, and society, and they have been repeatedly tied, til I have begun using threads as a medium to convey my past experiences and emotions. Through this process, the knots are unraveled, pulled out from my body, and transformed onto fabric and paper. It heals me.

A poetry collection contains 55 poems about Hong Kong, land, and my growth, as well as 28 threaded illustrations. As each threaded illustration is double-sided, I intentionally left blank pages between the poems so that readers can correspond one side of the threaded illustration while reading, and the reverse side corresponds to another poem.

I sewed the thread onto the book because I think a line of text looks like a line, so I hope that readers can read the threads while reading the text, and the thread itself can become a language. The interesting thing about the thread is that it can connect different illustrations together. However, once one side breaks, the other side will also break. Moreover, the thread is fluid, so each time the book is opened and read, the form of the thread will be different.
